Installing a Kirami Tub: What You Need to Know

A Kirami tub is more than just a luxury it’s a lifestyle investment in outdoor wellness, Finnish simplicity and lasting quality. But before you can sink into the soothing warmth of your new tub, a few practical steps need to be considered to ensure a safe, smooth and long lasting installation.

Whether you're setting up at a rural retreat, a cosy garden corner, or a luxury holiday let, here’s what you need to know about installing your Kirami hot tub.

1. Choose the Right Location

Your tub should feel like a natural extension of your outdoor space. Choose a flat, level surface that’s stable and can support the full weight of the tub when filled typically a patio, decking, gravel base or reinforced slab.

Tips:

Allow clear access around the tub for cleaning and maintenance.
Choose a spot with some privacy and shelter from wind.
If embedding in a deck or terrace, consult us for technical measurements and clearances.

2. Consider Access to Wood or Electric & Water

Kirami hot tubs are wood-fired, so you’ll need easy access to dry firewood and a safe space to store it nearby. You’ll also need a hose or water source to fill the tub.

A standard hosepipe works perfectly for filling.
Make sure the drainage path is safe and legal water can often be drained onto a lawn or gravel if chemical free.

3. Delivery & Positioning

Our tubs are delivered pre assembled and ready for use. Depending on your site, they can be moved into place via pallet truck, crane or manual lift.

Top tip: Measure all access routes carefully gates, garden paths and doorways and let us know in advance if the site has difficult access or uneven terrain.

We’re happy to provide advice if needed.

4. Connecting Your Heater. Wood-Fired or Electric

Kirami offers both wood-fired and electric heater options, so you can choose the setup that suits your lifestyle and location.

Wood-Fired Heaters

Our most popular and traditional option, perfect for off grid or rural settings.

Fill the tub before lighting the fire
Heats in around 2–3 hours, depending on model and weather
No electricity needed, just dry firewood and airflow
Creates a quiet, authentic and atmospheric experience
Electric Heaters

For convenience and consistent temperature control, especially in holiday lets or busy homes.

Requires a professional electrical connection
Ideal for daily or commercial use
Easy push button control, no firewood required
Typically, slower to heat, but steady once set

5. Consider Seasonal Use

Kirami tubs are built for year round use including winter, but it’s important to take precautions when temperatures drop below freezing:

Either fully drain the tub when not in use.
Maintain a low, regular heat to avoid freezing (safely monitored)
Use an insulated cover to retain warmth and protect the water

6. Easy Maintenance

Installation isn’t just about the setup it’s about maintaining your tub properly from day one. Luckily, Kirami tubs are designed for low-maintenance ownership:

  • Regular water changes (every 2–4 uses, or weekly with no filter)
  • Occasional cleaning of the heater and water jacket
  • Wood surface care if you have a Thermowood or traditional timber model
  • We provide full aftercare guides and advice tailored to your model and usage.
